can help uncover a hidden history and help an untold tale.
The history of Albertans with disabilities is largely unknown.
It is at times troubling: instituationalization; forced sterilization;
denial of basic human rights.
Yet, a long road had been travlled to right these wrongs.
It's My History, Too!, a groundbreaking initiative, will tell the story
of people with developmental disabilities in Alberta. Institutional
life, education and community living are the primary lenses
through which we will see what it means and has meant to
have a disability.
Today, with your help, Alberta can be a place where people of all
abilities are engaged and enrich our society, reflecting the can-do
attitude Albertans are known for.
